Todd Colin

Co-Founder, CEO

Our greatest challenge as an organization is identifying passion for life in our new hires. In our search for talented individuals to join our team, I often support the hiring process during the interview phase. In one interview, a question that came my way and gave me pause was, “Why supply chain?” This question began a deeper reflection on my career and life in the industry.

Beginning as a family business in 1994 as a startup common carrier, I learned early on that this industry is incredibly competitive and a capital-intensive business with razor thin margins. Success demanded innovation and grit to withstand the cyclical rollercoaster of the economy. Those experiences of managing capital, assets, people, technologies, and processes coupled with a passion to do it better, laid a foundation that would give me a much greater appreciation of the entire order lifecycle that we manage in the supply chain today.”

Co-founding Rockfarm in 2008 was a milestone that brought forward a vision and passion to create supply chain visibility for our clients. Today, our organization of experts, engineer customer-centric solutions that lower our client’s costs to serve, support our clients’ growth, mitigates risk, and improves their customer’s experience.

In addition to Todd’s CEO responsibilities at Rockfarm, Todd serves on the Illinois Bank & Trust board of directors. Todd enjoys boating on the Mississippi and time with his wife and two children.

Brad Stewart

Co-Founder, CCO

The early ’90s brought the 3PL industry into prominence, however, it took cloud-based transportation management systems to push the logistics service industry forward in the early 2000s with the engagement of midsize shippers.  The challenge we saw was the traditional cost of delivering services did not break out freight expense from logistics service expense. The blind-buy traditional pricing approach was the dominant pricing approach.

We saw an opening in the market that allowed for the carrier’s direct line of sight to the shipper as the true customer, while we supported the shipper with integrated technology and services as an extension of our client’s team. The business model required for this was an “open book” model giving the shipper visibility to their actual freight expense and logistics service expense.  This approach evolved into a cost-of-service culture. Our approach to the market allowed us an opportunity to push forward in 2008 and enable our mission, lower the cost to serve to stand as a cornerstone of our company today.

Brad’s journey into logistics began as a Marine Officer and transitioned from the LTL docks to the non-asset side within the logistics service provider arena.  As a co-founder of Rockfarm, Brad drives our business development efforts and delivery of our promise. An Arizona native, Brad enjoys spending time outdoors in his home state with his wife and family.

Donna Quinn

CFO

After spending 14 ½ years as the CFO of a small locally owned community bank, Donna’s career took a turn to the transportation industry as Controller for a local carrier that is now the nation’s second largest reefer carrier. This position opened her eyes and interest into the complexity and challenges that the transportation industry presents and provided a wealth of knowledge and experience.

When the chief financial officer position was created at Rockfarm, the idea of combining all her years of experience in accounting, financial preparation & analysis, budgeting & planning, playing a leadership role with a growing company was an opportunity that simply needed to be pursued. The top three core values of Rockfarm, honestly & integrity, growth-oriented, and servicing the customer above all else drew her in. She looks forward to assisting the leadership of Rockfarm in reaching its short- and long-term plans.

Donna holds a BA degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Clarke College, an MBA from the University of Dubuque, holds her CPA and is a school board member of East Dubuque School District.  In her spare time, Donna enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her husband, family, and friends. 

Drew Burken

CIO

Technology is defined in a number of ways, however, for me, I see it as an extension of my purpose to grow and better myself.  Technology is similar, in that it makes claim to purpose, method, and process. It was a logical choice to submerge myself into the field and gain experience across industries with exposure to a host of challenges and fortunately, a lot of solutions to those challenges.  

Today, at Rockfarm, we deliver solutions that mitigate a host of challenges within growing organizations that includes an overabundance of tribal knowledge, limited order lifecycle visibility, and a poor customer experience. The rapid pace of change in the supply chain is formidable, it is my mission to focus on what makes us “great” and continue to develop a competitive advantage for our clients and my internal customers.  Knowing each day brings new challenges, is also knowing we have an opportunity to deliver a solution. That is what keeps our wheels turning.

Outside of Rockfarm, Drew spends his time at a local college fostering tomorrow’s leaders through teaching. When Drew isn’t in the classroom he enjoys his time on the golf course or being with his wife and two children. Drew holds a BS in Computer Science and an MBA from the University of Dubuque.

Seth Pacha

Vice President of Product Development

Ever since I can remember, I always wanted to work with numbers. The thrill of logically solving problems to produce results drove me to my current path – data. This a simple, yet challenging requirement for any supply chain. Data defines the journey by presenting questions leading to discovery and a solution. Whether the functional area is transportation, production, warehousing, or inventory optimization, today’s rapidly changing, the technological environment makes data the true lifeblood of the supply chain.

From choosing what to produce, deciding on the location of distribution points, determining the right quantity to store, or selecting the optimal path to the end customer, data resides in the established systems and processes. The power comes from strategically using the data to make the best decisions. Rockfarm drives this visibility to our clients in order to optimize processes, mitigate risk, reduce costs, and more importantly, enhance customer experiences.

Seth’s journey into logistics started in IT at a Fortune 100 company but quickly moved into the inventory planning and optimization area within a large 3PL. Outside of Rockfarm, Seth enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters while volunteering as a coach for the local middle school and travel softball programs. Seth holds degrees in Accounting and Management of Information Systems from the University of Northern Iowa.

Angie Landsman

Controller

When we first started up, we had three initiatives within my team, accuracy, timeliness, and process integrity.  Those key initiatives are still the core of our accounting service to our clients and carrier partners. As one of Rockfarm’s first team members, it didn’t take long before I clearly understood the impact accounting has on the value we create for our clients and the impact we have on our client’s supply chain.

Our efforts to accurately record month-end client accruals, general ledger codes, and carrier payments drive the visibility of the order lifecycle as importantly as the execution process of the bill of lading. Our ability to drive real-time visibility of the accounting workflow and invoice statuses delivers integrity and security to our client’s supply chain, creating a direct line of sight to receivables and payables.

Angie’s journey with Rockfarm began in 2008, little did she know what she was going to be experiencing as a start-up department within a start-up company.  Returning to her hometown of Dubuque, IA, after leaving with her business degree from the University of Dubuque, Angie enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband during all four seasons of the year.

Ted Anders

Director of Provider Development

There’s never a boring day in logistics.’ This sentiment is one heard often and continues to stand the test of time. Challenges lead to solutions, solutions lead to partnerships and partnerships lead to mutual growth. I think this never-ending quest to answer the supply chain challenges with innovative solutions becomes addictive and is the reason many of us dedicate our careers to this industry.

My beginnings in logistics began at Iowa State in the Supply Chain Management program. From there, I worked in dispatch operations at a large asset-based flatbed carrier and later moved into customer service and fleet management for our dedicated clients at various locations.

That hands-on exposure to everything from truck maintenance to contract pricing to driver payroll laid the groundwork for my role today in working with our carrier base and understanding how they operate. We aim to pair great opportunities with great resources and is aligned with your providers is key to that objective.

I hold a BS in Supply Chain Management from Iowa State University and an MBA in Data Analytics from Loras College.

My wife and I have a son, and in my free time, I like to golf, fish, bowl, and hunt.

Kim Heagle

Director of Fulfillment Services

When asked what matters to a customer other than price, 9 times out of 10 the answer is service. At Rockfarm, we strive to manage our clients’ costs in a bull market and manage capacity in the bear market. We can do that by providing full visibility to our carrier rate and sharing our margins with our clients. We strive to be fully transparent on the cost to do business in today’s ever-changing market.

I lead a team of dedicated Account Managers, Customer Coordination Representatives, and a Data Entry team that takes pride in what their role is within our brokerage and is focused on providing the best experience for our clients.

My career in transportation started with selling small maintenance items to some of the largest for-hire carriers in the US. From there, I moved into the DOT space providing a managed service for large private fleets managing driver compliance including driver qualification files, drug and alcohol testing, HOS to vehicle compliance services such as title and registration, base plate renewals, and intrastate authority.

I started at Rockfarm in 2018 working with our national accounts and focused on building a partnership with our clients. Our goal was to create a department where we will not be just another carrier for you but be a trusted carrier partner.

Originally from Northeast Wisconsin, my husband and I moved to Southwest Wisconsin in 2015. In my free time, you’ll usually find me in a trout stream or traveling to one of our National Parks.

Sarah Decker

Director of Managed Transportation

Cultivating partnerships has always been a cornerstone of Rockfarm’s business model.  Throughout our growth, we continually focused development on teams built to foster and support client relationships. From tactical control tower services to strategic account management, we position our partnership with shippers and brokers alike as an extension of their teams; marrying our clients’ own internal initiatives with Rockfarm’s logistics expertise to promote aligned solutions prioritized on growth and lowering our client’s cost to serve.

Sarah began her logistics journey focused on 4PL warehousing and specializing in white glove delivery management for high-end furniture. In 2014, she was enticed with a job offer from Rockfarm to leave the temperate climate of Phoenix for the very eccentric weather of Dubuque, IA. Eight years later she has moved to a permanent residence in Illinois where she spends her free time with her husband and daughter – she still has not warmed to the weather.
