With COVID-19 lockdowns lifting as more people become vaccinated, the roads will begin to fill with travelers once again this Memorial Day weekend! According to AAA, more than 37 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home over the next few days. This is a rebound from last year when only 23 million people left home. People are also much more willing to spend more on travel this year as seen in the graphic above. So, if you are planning to head out, expect traffic on the roads and at your destination’s hot spots.

Wondering if your vacation spot is going to be packed? According to a report done by Expedia, the Top Drivable Destinations will be Broken Bow, OK, Boone, NC, Naples, FL, Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, TN and Miramar & Rosemary Beach, FL. However, if flying is more your style, the most popular locations this year will be Cancun, Orlando, Las Vegas, Miami, Denver, New York, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago and Phoenix.
