For those of us living in the US, we know that hurricane season is rarely an enjoyable time to live near the coasts, and this year is no exception. In fact, we are two months into hurricane season and things have just begun to ramp up as we reach August and September, the peak months. According to the graph above from NOAA, the average hurricane season produces 14 named storms, of which 7 become hurricanes, including 3 major hurricanes. In 2021, we are predicted to see 20.

As we approach what could be critically dangerous times for many communities, it is important to be mindful of how inclement weather could affect supply chains. Drivers must pay extra attention to weather alerts and emergency notices as they strive to make it to their destination in a timely yet safe manner.
