Cybersecurity Awareness Month
When’s the last time you updated passwords or checked for viruses on your devices? If it’s been awhile, use October, National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, to do a full review of your cybersecurity measures. Reveal Risk reports that extortionware is the latest and greatest threat to your private information. One cannot simply play catch up and recovery once your data has been stolen. The real power leis in preparing and guarding yourself from attacks. But what steps can you take to ensure your data’s privacy?
Fist, update all passwords to ensure they are unique and high in strength. If you are an admin user for a company-wide platform with multiple users, ensure that your user list only includes current and active users. Beyond that, you will need to employ firewalls, security monitoring systems and ensure you are frequently updating those programs. Staying ahead of the game is the only way to prevent partial or even total loss of your data.\
