Go to About Rockfarm

At Rockfarm, we take our responsibility as a corporate citizen seriously, striving to promote positive change both within and beyond our organization. Our dedicated CARE team is responsible for driving sustainability and corporate responsibility efforts across our business. We recognize the importance of being a positive member of a more ethical America, and our team is passionate about upholding these responsibilities.

Our CARE team focuses on four key categories: Community, Awareness, Rockfarmers, and Environment. We are committed to making a difference in each of these areas, and we have implemented various initiatives and projects to support our efforts. Join us in our mission to build a more sustainable and responsible future.

Community

  • Our team at Rockfarm actively collects clothing to donate to the local St. Vincent DePaul, and in 2022 we donated 510 lbs. of clothing to support families in need.
  • Since 2016, we have been holding annual gift drives for families in need in partnership with Resources Unite during the holiday season.
  • During our monthly luncheons, we prioritize buying from Dubuque area restaurants that are family-owned, supporting the local community and promoting small businesses.
  • Our community garden is thriving, and we have already donated 257 lbs. of fresh vegetables and pantry staples to the Dubuque Food Pantry, promoting healthy eating options and reducing food waste.

At Rockfarm, we are committed to being an active member of our community and promoting sustainability and social responsibility in all aspects of our business..

Awareness

Rockfarmers

At Rockfarm, we are dedicated to supporting our employees, whom we affectionately call “Rockfarmers.”

  • In 2022, we launched a new program that will allow our employees to donate 400+ hours of volunteer time off to enhance and serve the communities in which we live and work.
  • We believe in a work-life balance and offer remote and work-from-home options to our employees. This approach not only fosters flexibility, but it also enables us to work with those from coast to coast.
  • We believe that our team is stronger when we come together, and we host several events throughout the year to foster team building, including a Summer Family PicnicUgly Sweater ContestRockfarm Open, and more!

Environment

  • Rockfarm has recently taken a monumental step towards reducing our carbon footprint with the installation of our newly installed solar panels, seen left! These cutting-edge panels will not only generate renewable energy but will also offset the power-generated CO2 emissions from our HQ offices in Dubuque.
  • Our use of digital documents has allowed us to save 70+ trees a year!
  • We are taking steps to align our office and business practices with the City of Dubuque’s 50% by 2030 Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve sustainability.
  • As proud sponsors of the Watershed CAARE Greenhouse program at The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, we are excited to share that it is now growing pollinator-friendly, native plant species.
    • The greenhouse aims to educate visitors, especially school-age kids, on the importance of healthy land stewardship and its impact on pollinators like Monarch Butterflies.
  • We are a Small Business Partner with the National Forest Foundation, contributing to their goal of planting 50 million trees across National Forests by 2023.
